Lie upon this ragged shore
And sing me sweet forevermore
The boiling waves come burn my skin
And I can’t sleep with the dark within

Hold me close as I shut my eyes
Keep from the thirsting tides
They’ll rip and tear until I’m bone
And leave my ivory broke, alone

Take me from this shadowed place
I’ll watch the light fall upon your face
And count the hours slip away
Fragile ghosts of dawn and day

  1. You’re an awesome writer and a beautiful soul. Thanks for sharing your words. And, yes thanks for liking my poem.:)
I’m glad I met you and a new follower you’ve.

  2. I really like it. That’s easy for me, because I really love your style. And I’m a huge beach nut! My only thought is that your next-to-the-last-line would be better as “And count the hours that slip away…” Keep those great poems coming girl.
