Snow

Clouds clot
Into scabs of ice
Silent violence
Burns cold
On fingertips
Cracked skin
And hangnails
Hovering moons
Crescent white
In a January sky

  1. See, I’ve always read about snow being this nice, friendly white fleece blanket that you don’t want to ever go away. It seems you’ve depicted it in its true nature. The torturer of poor fingers.

Note that it doesn’t snow here at all, so I haven’t experienced what you’ve described.

    1. Thanks for commenting! I did want to describe it differently then it usually is, so thanks for letting me know I was successful at that. We haven’t gotten any real good snow here yet, just dustings mostly, but I’m kind of hoping we do.
