branches bend like the stems of champagne flutes
under the drunken weight of frost and bubbles
arms intertwine and stumble across sheets of marble
streets bathed in golden light reflect shining faces
winking and grinning at the echoes of fading memories

  2. This reminds me of last year when I walked Downtown with my boarding housemates to look at all the Christmas lights. It was an impressive range of lights.

    Also, I like your new layout. Hope your Christmas Eve is well.

    1. I’m so glad you liked my poem. It’s always interesting to see how different people interpret the same piece if writing.
      It took me a little bit to figure out a good layout, but I’m happy with this one.

      2. It’s just nice to know that there is someone taking the time to read and think about what I write. Before I started this, I was writing in a vaccuum where I was my only source of opinion. My goal is that this site will help me develop and grow as a writer. Anyway, thank you for reading!
